May - Mom & Dad

Joshua reminds us of the importance of making decisions promptly: "Choose you THIS DAY whom ye will serve:" Joshua 24:15
Notice he did not say tomorrow or not when we get ready to, not when it is convenient...but THIS DAY straightway, choose whom you will serve. He who invites us to follow will always be out in front of us with His Spirit and influence setting the pace. He has charted and marked the course, opened the gates, and shown the way. He has invited us to come unto Him, and the best time to enjoy His companionship is straightway...today. We can best get on the course and stay on the course by doing as Jesus did...make a total commitment to do the will of His Father...........Taken from a talk by Elder Marvin J. Ashton.

I was impressed in our Sunday School lesson today as to just how much we tend to wander off and on the path that leads to Eternal Blessings. There is so much in the world today to lead us away from the Lord in such little ways, that they can soon  grow into such big things if we don't correct ourselves as we go day by day. Little bad habits are hard to kick. They can become larger problems....but...if we determine not to fall for any of the offensive things to the Lord and choose to serve Him right from the beginning and stay firm in conviction and faith we can pass the sorrows that come from walking off the path...I pray for my children, my grand children, my great grand children daily.....that all might hold true to the faith. That each will be able to never have to make that choice of 'should I or should I not'....because you all have been taught to choose the right. The Lord also told Joshua "Be strong and of a good courage..." I would ask each of you to be that way also...Be strong and of a good courage... Stay close to the Lord in your everyday living. Be strong examples of living true and righteous lives for your own salvation and also for those who watch what you do on a daily basis...your family.

Well, I told all of you that I passed my Utah drivers test...that was really good for me health wise. We have our garden all planted and of course flowers put in here and there. The lawn is looking pretty good and a healthy green. Dad is still playing golf in all kinds of weather....he came home drenched the other day and accused me of praying for rain. I was innocent of the charge. This week coming up has changed a bit in plans due to the death of one of dads/grandpa's uncles. Marvin Foster Bollschweiler...that would be grandpa Rex's last and youngest sibling. He lives in Evanston Wy. We will be stopping by there on our way to Yellowstone for the funeral so we will be a bit later getting to the cabin. I chose a cabin over a tent as I am not real fond of cold or bears or moose or whatever is running loose. As Steve says....I am a whoose or however you spell it. At least I am a warm one!! Tuesday I go in for a stress test and I am not looking forward to that event, so heading out of town sounds pretty good to me. After two days in Yellowstone we will head over to Allen and Tami's house for a couple of days. I am so looking forward to doing this! Well, all is well so far with us. I need to get out the UNO cards and try and remember how to cheat......oh yes....and here I just talked about serving the Lord daily.......good going there mom/grandma!! Well, our love to each of you....take care and remember who you are and what you are and act accordingly...Be thou strong and of a good courage.

Birthdays for this month are Dennis, Merrilyn, myself, and dad and I have made it to 55 years together!!! He sure has been a survivor to accomplish that with me...bless his little pointed head...gotta love him!
Love, Mom/grandma and Dad/grandpa xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxo   Lets hear from everyone. I love to know what is going on in your lives.
